Okay call me less than a true Garth fan, but I like it. Doesn't bother me that he makes a crack about Chris Gaines, lots of people didn't get that. And the Ultimate Hits was what two years ago now? And 1/2 of that was old stuff. I want totally new music too dang it LOL
I admit it, I was wrong. Was forced to listen to it on Storme's Happy Hour, and it's fantastic! Bonus points for mentioning Trisha, and for not being spiteful like in his other parody!
it's grown on me. I was VERY hesitant after the whole IAE parady, but this is pretty funny. Agreed about Ronnie Dunn adding a whole lot to it. Can't wait to hear "I saw Garth today". :)
"now he don't even show up at the CMA's" got me to laughing. In "Just Another Day in Parodies" he claims to have sat next to Garth and his ex-wife at the CMA's. What is this IAE thing? Which parody of what song are we talking about?
Gotta hear it...
ReplyDeleteLMAO Wanna hear that! I read somewhere he did "I saw Garth today" too. But haven't heard any of them.
ReplyDeleteI haven't heard it either. Assume it's a parody of George Strait's I Saw God Today.
ReplyDeletePaula
Edit...I meant Brooks & Dunn's God Must Be Busy...duh.
ReplyDeleteOh boy.
ReplyDeleteoh, i gotta hear this!
ReplyDeleteI found a clip here...

Okay, I was on board till the snarky Chris Gaines comment....jeez!
ReplyDelete....and, btw, when he says "just one track"...guess he doesn't own of copy of Ultimate Hits either?
ReplyDeleteI haven't enjoyed many of his parodies since the one of IAE.
ReplyDeleteI thought the IAE parody was quite mean spirited. I can't get the reverbnation clip to play so I haven't heard this one.

ReplyDeleteI'm not a fan of his, but this is clever and done well. I love that he gor Ronnie Dunn to sing on it.

ReplyDeleteI gotta tell ya... I love it! Ronnie Dunn just comes in and WAILS on it, and adds this whole air of credibility. He's SOOO serious.
ReplyDeleteI just laugh when I hear it. Like the mini-van line...
