A couple of weeks ago I told you how odd it was that Sony issued a press release announcing that they had parted ways with Gretchen Wilson. I mentioned that's not normally the way it's done.
Hello, Exhibit A: There is another artist no longer on Columbia records. And the only reason that we know that is because someone asked "hey, when is ___________'s album coming out?"
And the answer was, it's not.

Would this be an album from your favorite duo or perhaps a former Nashville Star contestant?
My guess would be Jessica Simpson is no longer with Columbia Records.
The Jessica thing was a one album deal, she's done there but that wasn't what I was referring to.
Montgomery Gentry is safe... Miranda is safe... although it took me a while to figure out who you were referring to... I forget she did Nashville Star.
Melissa Lawson, on the other hand, is not going to have an album released on Warner Brothers, since you brought up Nashville Star. She's trying to raise the money to finish it herself... Jon Rich clearly has the money, but apparently he isn't working with her any longer either.
One of my readers will chime in with the answer to this one, I'm certain... it may just take her a while to get here. LOL
