Back from the Cornfields

Back from another long weekend of driving through the cornfields. Had a very quiet 4th of July playing with munchkins and cuddling the new baby.

What did you do?

Although it is not a national celebration here, it is still a special day for me: the birthday of my grandma. She turned 90 this year! Unfortunately, I couldn't be on her birthday (she lives in Holland and I live in Switzerland). But I had a very good friend from Holland over to visit us. We went swimming in the Rhine. That was really cool too. The current was very strong and we let the current take us about a mile downstream. Very relaxing!

Not a very exciting weekend for me. I brought work home and also studied for an online course that's halfway through. I'm also doing some planning for my next two vacations - Disney in December and Fan Fair 2009 (and waiting patiently for the announcement of the opening act for the BOK Center). :-)

Pictures?

I just enjoyed my three-day weekend away from work and stayed home catching up on housework - fun I know. I also babysat for my sister Saturday evening (til one in the morning!)

We went to the base and enjoyed the festivities there on Friday night. The rest of the weekend was pretty laid back.

Hubby is on leave this week. Won't be doing much, oldest daughter is recovering from surgery last wednesday.

Went out to eat hibachi at a new Japanese steak house. I love shrimp and scallops from the hibachi. We also watched our neighbors across the street light up the sky with their fireworks. We were supposed to go swimming with the munchkins but it started storming so we cancelled those plans.

Nothing special here - just did a little shopping on the 4th and vegged out most of the weekend.

We took Cebastian to the fireworks. He didn't like staying up until 9pm that is until the fireworks started and he thought they were the greatest ever.. he was in awe.
