Ok, technically I am not still in Grundy County. But I did spend the weekend there. (No time to blog while I was there.) And every time I thought about it, that song went through my head.
My life IS a country song.

Hmmmm didn't do much. Went to a scrapbook crop from 6pm to midnight on Friday. Watched a lot of sports yesterday. Wanted to go see Trent at Sea World this weekend, but with the price of gas and the need to drag two less than thrilled kids with me to the concert, I decided not to go. On the upside, Illinois, Chicago Bears, and the Titans won. On the down side so did Jimmie Johnson and Carl Edwards LOL
Just where is Grundy County and what brought you there?
Went to a cookout with some high school classmates on Sunday.
I didn't listen to the shortcuts, but I did watch the Opry on Saturday night. Jessica was okay, but I just can't get passed my feeling that she is superficial and not sincere. It also bothered me that the camera kept going from Loretta to Jessica holding a camera offstage.
I did like Crystal Shawanda who I wanted to hear in June but missed. Her voice reminded me of Reba McEntire when I first heard her.

I listened to ShortCuts on Friday (and again right now), but at work. There were a couple of songs that didn't sound too bad; certainly not any worse than some songs being played right now. She definitely seems to be making the rounds and saying the right things, and not expecting to be played based on her "pop" and tabloid credentials.
Grundy County is in Eastern Tennessee... we had a church retreat up there this weekend.

Went to a convention of AHL Booster Clubs out in Scanton, PA.
Did not listen to XM most of the weekend - just on the drive out - the drive back I had to go to FM radio to listen to the race.
Haven't been up to much this weekend. Was at the movie theater on Friday with the kids. We saw Wall-E. (yeah we get those things late in Norway) I liked it a lot.
this weekend I worked a football game on Friday night, Saturday went to 3 kid consinment sales. Sunday had a bridal show. I did get Cebastian a halloween coustme he is going to be a Bee.
Maybe I'm wrong, but other than her "staying pure for marriage" phase, hasn't she dressed like this since then? I guess if she's always worshipped Dolly then the influence has always been there, it's nothing new. I just seem to remember her like this when her tv show was on with Nick. :shrug: Not appropriate for the Opry, but is it ever?
