Party Like A Rock Star

Tomorrow my baby turns 11. *sniff*sniff*

Having a February birthday has proven to be challenging. Not, mind you, that it's my fault. She shouldn't have arrived until March, but she had other plans.

Given that she spent the first 8 years of her life as the spoiled rotten only grandchild, we usually haven't needed to do a big birthday present. Between Christmas and her Birthday, there really wasn't much left on the store shelves that someone hadn't already bought her. What we have done in the past few years, however, is given her some kick-ass birthday parties.

This year - surprise, surprise! - it was a Hannah Montana birthday party. And if I may say so -- it rocked!

The day started with "Red Carpet Arrivals" at our house. (Love the $1 clearance rack in the WalMart fabric section!) Each guest received a personalized VIP Laminate, just like mommy brings home from the schmooze fests. Each girl got a turn being the "Pop Star" and the other girls came up to have their laminate "autographed." It was pretty funny to see them falling down and fawing over each other. We have a HM game that includes a CD where they have to "perform" either a specified song or dance move, which they had a blast doing. We had a Hannah Montana cake and purple soda and she opened presents - most of which were Hannah related.

Then the chauffers loaded up the VIP's and took the girls to the local theater to see the "Best of Both Worlds" 3-D concert experience. It was pretty good actually, and the girls rocked out on the back row. Afterwords the family chauffers arrived to pick the girls up from the theater.

The best part for Laynie was that this was the first time all five of her "BFF's" got to be at one of her parties. "This was the best day of my life so far."

Rock on.

Awwwww how cute !!! My oldest "baby" turned 17 last Friday. We went out to dinner at Olive Garden where they embarrassed her with a happy birthday song. :D

We bought her a teal Nano, but then the pink ones came out so we are waiting for the base exchange to get them in so she can exchange hers.

Happy Belated Birthday Delaynie !!!
