Six Random Facts About Me

I was tagged by default by Derek, who challenged anyone who read his blog post to do their own Six Random Facts About Me. The hard part here is for me to come up with stuff y'all don't already know... I feel like my life is an open book! Here goes. Did you know....?

Now... I tag all of you to post a comment with your own 6 Random Facts. And my Stat Counter lets me know that you were here, so don't pretend like you aren't. :-P I see you.

Pam, I used to bowl candlepins, which is a type of bowling that is regional...small balls and skinny pins...and used to bowl in a league. We also have what we call 10-pin which is the conventional bowling, and I've done that type as well. In fact, I think I still have my 10-pin ball in the attic, along with my set of candlepin balls.

My Jacksonville reader has delurked! It's nice to meet you Carrie -- do you work at the Convention & Visitors Bureau there? I see it come up in my stats.

I need to hook you up with Marcia, who clogs with the Opry Square Dancers.

I will be in your airport next month for an hour or so!

I listen to Gerry House every morning too -- love him. He's hosting the Garth session next week, I can't wait!

Oh my gosh, Marcia is awesome. She's the reason my friend and I got to meet Porter Wagoner when we were backstage at the opry in sept. I am so grateful that she did. She is soooo nice.

Awesome post J! I know I'm fairly new and don't comment that often, so let's see:

1. My dream is to move to Nashville to be a country music journalist.
2.To pursue that dream, I was THIS CLOSE to attending Belmont about 10 years ago, just like a certain tall blond Georgia girl who is my all-time favorite singer and hero. I had even begun the application process, but unfortunately, my parents but the brakes on me moving there. They just don't get my passion for everything country music.
3. I have had the wonderful opportunity of meeting several country artists, including Miss Trisha (twice), and I have met my country journalist hero Lorianne Crook at her and Charlie's Fan Fair fan club party one year.
4. It was my one and only trip to Nashville for Fan Fair (back in the good old days in '97) that cemented my desire to pursue my country music goals. I loved it in Nashville!
5.After saying the above, it is funny that country music is my passion in life because as a kid, I hated it! I was all about the metal hair bands and Madonna until "the cowboy and the mrs." came on the scene.
6. Thanks to a very cool and supportive local dj friend, who gets my passion for the music and the business, I have started my own country music blog to get some experience writing about various things relating to country music. Once I have enough articles piled up, I hope to eventually submit them around Nashville just to see what comes of it. I have been putting my dreams aside for far too long and I am tired of wondering what if about it.

Sheesh, I hope this wasn't too long or personal. If anyone here wants to check out my blog, let me know. I would love any feedback - especially from you J.
