UPDATED: Carrie Underwood's Next Single Will Be...

... determined by the XM Nation! Arista has narrowed it down to two, but they've asked for our (YOUR!) help in making the final decision.

Tonight during Jay Thomas' live show, he'll be playing the two contenders, then taking votes from the XM Nation. Jay goes live at 6pm Eastern -- this will happen sometime in the 7pm Eastern hour. He'll have both an email address and phone number for you to vote. (one vote per person please!) Do you want me to tell you the 2 choices, or do you want to guess?

You can hear Highway 16 on XM / XM Radio Online channel 16 or DirecTV channel 814. And if you aren't yet an XM subscriber, I am sorry that you are missing yet another awesome benefit to being part of the XM family! Remember - I have deals!

Didn't she just release the song you're playing right now--Last Name? :o

Its a bit early to be picking the next single with 'Last Name' still riding the charts, but I'd guess its between her version of 'I Told You So' and 'The More Boys I Meet'.

Oh, do tell! I'd guess the next single will be either Just A Dream or I Know You Won't. I Told You So would be great too!

Thanks for the information J!

Boys and girls...let me share something. You don't just pop out a single overnight. These things take time. Singles have to be edited for radio (blah!) pressed, packaged and shipped, videos have to be storyboarded, marketing plans have to be made and in place long before the general public hears it on the radio.

(Unless of course, you have XM, then a lot of times you've already heard those future singles as album cuts.)

The two you'll be choosing between are in Snickers' post!

haha I knew those two would be the choices. PS. I can already see the video for Just A Dream ;)

I know this is totally useless to the conversation but...

The "Last Name" song kinda bothers me. Everytime I hear it, it reminds me of the Alan Jackson song (which I like) about marrying the waitress and he doesn't know her name.

Or.. maybe I'm just losing my mind and it's time to go on vacation again :)

You are not loosing your mind. The first time I heard that song, I thought -- wait! I know how this ends!

I think Last Name has more of a catch to it. she doesnt know HER last name as well! much more funny

I hope the next single is I Know You wont, but I really wish they would release Get Out Of This Town and Flat on the Floor :(

I haven't forgotten. Fan Fair is just kicking my butt right now.

I obviously didn't take the phone calls, but looking at the emails, it appears as though "Just a Dream" is the far away favorite between the two!

Thanks for playing!

oh, but to answer your question -- it was DELICIOUS!

Seriously, I'm gonna have to get that cookbook.
