Yay for Friday!
I'm spending my day editing... sniffling... sneezing. It's violently raining in Nashville today... so I'm planning on going home tonight and lighting a fire and curling up in front of it.
Gary is gone most of the weekend... Delaynie will be spending tomorrow as a Junior Zookeeper. (please let the weather improve!) My weekend will hopefully be nothing more strenuous than knitting, reading, and drinking hot chocolate.
What are your weekend plans? Name and town please. :-)
(This is a good chance for you lurkers to de-lurk and say hello!)

Funny enough, I'm supposed to go see George Strait tonight, postponed from January I think. However, due to the the programming change of my fave channel...this doesn't seem like such a good idea anymore. Can I just go for the opening act? :)
Other than that, just trying to psych myself up to return to work on Tuesday after being out since March 12. Blah. :)
I'm planning on being a NASCAR couch potato. I packed up 5 big boxes this morning. So I'm taking the rest of the day off. LOL
Hubby and oldest daughter are taking more stuff up to the new house tonight if the weather cooperates.
One more week and I'll be in my new house..... unpacking all these boxes.
I should be headed out to PA for a hockey game on Saturday and a concert on Sunday. Plans may change with my sinus and tooth infections.

Hmmm... still haven't decided. Thinking of going down to NYC for a few days. If I do, probably enjoy the fun of finding a bar in NYC that shows the race. ha! And I won't confirm it, but I might be working on my resume currently so I can be free of this madness by years end. But don't quote me on that.

Jon is in Baltimore for the Strait show! If you haven't shipped my Ipod you could give it to him to bring back to me!!!!
Looking forward to seeing Pammy's new house and Lish's smiling face job hunting in Nashville.
Saturday I have to go get two prizes for my Bunco group which I am hosting next week. Then I am going to Storyland with my niece and her two children. On Sunday I will probably be going to my 13 year old grandson's baseball game.

how can I get in touch with Jon? should I call him?
I'll email you his cell #
Tomorrow I'll be getting bloodwork done at the crack of dawn in preparation for my annual physical, then to get my car's 30,000 mile checkup, then to my sister's house where we will be getting haircuts. After that, no plans. On Sunday, will probably come into work and do more cleaning and purging in preparation for our move to new space at the end of May.
Sandi, good luck on your first day back to work...hope the month-long absence involved something enjoyable.

My sister and brother-in- law brought another beautiful baby into the world this morning.. Cady Elizabeth. So, looks like I'll be helping my parents baby sit their other daughter (3years old) and running back and forth between her house and the hospital.
Plus, my mother-in-law is STILL in town and staying at our house for ANOTHER week. I've reached my limit with her.
Next Friday starts my vacation (hooray!)

Well, I just returned from a week in Knoxville visiting a friend and endured two 14-hour car rides there and back. With a six-month old baby on the way home no less, which of course made the trip even longer what with all the extra stops LOL. The friend I rode up with and I drove the friend we went to see and her baby back home to visit the folks. But actually, he was pretty good considering. We did Dollywood while there, and that was so much fun!
This weekend I have a pageant to take pictures of for work and thats about it. Just normal housework and starting to catch up on books I have bought but never got around to reading, including Wicked. I have been wanting to read the book and see the play forever. If only I could afford a trip to NYC to see it on Broadway. I also saw Chicago (the play) at a local pac about an hour away from me Monday night - we had a great time.
So, that's about it for me this weekend - housework and relaxing with some books.

Carrie,
My daughters name is Cady Jo Elizabeth. :-D
Congrats to the new parents !!!
I've spent the last week in hospital, and are just home on leave for a few days. So I will just be chilling at home, spending time with my kids. :) And it's soooo nice to be home!

I'm celebrating my baby's 18th birthday. Then going to a wedding tomorrow and praying it doesn't rain here cause it's an outdoor wedding.
Sunday, I'm going to scrap and make some cards.
Attend a redevelopment meeting in the morning and work on the economic development committee's newsletter in the afternoon. I'll have to house clean on Sunday.
I'm working a consulting job and trying to sell a house or two as well.
J- have you ever made a throw? I have a super easy pattern for a two colour throw that you can whip out in no time and they make really good gifts (for about $10 worth of yarn). Let me know if you'd want it. :)

We all have to de-lurk sometime!
This weekend, it's all about the kids. We're taking them to a movie tonight (walking out the door in five minutes), going to a school fundraising breakfast in the morning, lunch with friends tomorrow, and then taking them to another movie tomorrow night. On Sunday, there's sure to be something come up after church.
By the time they go to school on Monday morning, I'll be so exhausted, I'll probably crawl back into bed and sleep off the weekend!
Cheers,
Shannon from Centerville, Tennessee
Well, tomorrow I have to see if the pharmacy has my allegry meds. Target was out of it. Then, maybe do some homework. I might be going to a tin pan south show. I got denied last night at the dave berg show because it was at capacity. So, I dunno if I wanna go through that again. Then, sunday I have to write a 3 page paper over a 5 1/2 microeconomics movie. After that maybe more micro hw and math. College sucks :( The teachers have no mercy.

Jona - I'm sorry to hear you've been in the hospital! Hope all is better now.
Congratulations Aunt Carrie!
Heather, I started reading Wicked and didn't ever manage to finish it. It's umm... different!
Barbara, I'm in a prayer shawl group at church. I've got Delaynie knitting too! I've decided the bigger the needles the better.
Yay for de-lurkers Shannon! You'll have to let me know what movie you saw. The last one I saw in theaters was Nancy Drew. LOL. WOOPS -- no it wasn't, it was the Hannah Montana concert.
Wicked the book is nothing like Wicked the musical. I got thru the book, but after I saw the musical. I pick the musical. :) The book is definitely interesting... but go see the show. :)
my seven cents...
If the weather is good, I work in my garden.

I'm having to work Saturday and Sunday morning.
Going to visit my step-daughter as it's her birthday. Have to get the master bedroom back in order as we just had it painted. Probably do brunch on Sunday with my Dad, sister and brother-in-law.
Like shannon, i guess i'll have to "de-lurk" too...lol. This weekend is work and study for finals...i'm starting to wonder why i'm in university haha...its too exhausting.

Tonight I went to a Tin Pan South show - its a songwriter's festival in Nashville. It was my 4th night out in a row at a Tin Pan show actually. I might make it out again tomorrow night for the 5th and final night of the festival...or that couch may be calling my name! Especially if it doesn't stop raining. It's been raining for days.
J- Use size 15 needles, cast on at a guage of 5 stitches per 2 inches, (however many needed to get your width for the shawl) USING 2 strands of yarn (either both the same colour or contrast or complimentary). I use a knit garter stitch, as the texture is nicer. you should get 4 rows=one inch, so it zips along.
For a throw I cast on 98 stiches and knit until I've come close to the end of my pounder skeins of yarn and then cast off. I usually only have a meter or so of yarn left. I can turn out a 3' x 4' throw over 2-3 nights in front of the telly.(I've knitted since I was 4 and am quite speedy) I give them as closing gifts.
I definitely want to do throws for my new living room furniture later this year.
Whatcha got for child's scarves? :-D
Thanks for the tips on Wicked J and Lish. That's what I've heard as well, that the book is very different from the musical and a difficult read. I have been playing around the web and have heard the music from the musical and I love it! I am so keeping an eye out for it coming to my area. We got Chicago this March, next March is Hairspray (which I am already planning on going to) so maybe, just maybe, Wicked will be the next big show to end to 2010 season LOL!
I seriously need to save money for a Broadway vacation! I have been wanting to do that for a long time.
I missed the whole Wicked talk...but I also LOVED it!!! :)
Wicked is absolutely one of the best shows I've seen and one I would (and want to) see again. I never did read the book.
Um...Lish, anything I should know?
Paula
NOW you tell me the book sucks. LOL
I bought the book in the KC airport last November coming back from a Garth show... needed something to fill the time in the airport. The whole Wicked Witch / Kansas thing was going on.... it seemed appropriate.
