She SANG live, yes. But the band isn't live. They cut "tv" versions of the song tracks to sing to, conforming to the time regulations of the broadcast.
I bring it up because I bring you the behind the scenes scoop. That's what I do.
As a broadcasting major I find it fascinating the way an event such as an award show is put together. Part of that involves not having to sound check a band for all 20 performers. Nothing negative about that in my opinion, it's just the way things are done.
If you find my scoop to be "always picking everything apart" I'm sure there are plenty of other places for you to hang out on the net that are more to your liking, I sure don't force anyone to come here.
As for Kelly, again - I wasn't saying ANYONE didn't sing live - although I've read on other message boards people swearing such and such was lip syncing. According to the tech rundown, EVERYONE was SINGING live.
Wow, I had know idea what goes into an award show production! It sure makes sense to not have everyone perform live--what a nightmare that would be for the behind-the-scenes personell!! Thanks J, for keeping us informed!
