The Mid-week Mistress

My husband works ridiculously late on Wednesdays and Thursdays. If I didn't know better I'd wonder what he was up to.

I took advantage of the solitude tonight to really comb through the Music City Holiday database. I'm close to getting ready to actually be able to schedule some logs. So... I'll give you a chance to redeem yourself for the lame participation in the "Guess the Last Song to Play on US Country" quiz.

It was Jo Dee Messina "Bye Bye" for the record.

As the computer scheduled it in my test run, the first song was Garth's "It's the Most Wonderful Time of the Year."

I'm listening if anyone has a better suggestion.

Dear God - I'm about to slit my wrists listening to Dwight. I shall make sure that isn't gonna play on Music City Holiday. EVER.

Great choice--too obvious for my tired brain to guess. :P

My absolute favorite Christmas song (and yes, Trisha sings it) is Santa Claus is Back in Town. In case you were wondering.

Sandi Did you mean 'The Ole Man's Back'??? :P

I like that too, JoAnn. But no. :P

Nope, that's a perfect choice J.:)

yes I'm Lame... but I was completely lost and read it wrong anyway... I was thinking the last CHRISTMAS song to be played and I thought... why the heck are they planning that already. I need a nap...

I vote for Mrs. Brooks' "Santa Claus" too as it just rocks it out...

Although I do like his version of "Most Wonderful". - good choice for an opener. And it's the G-Man, so there. I also love "Baby Jesus is Born" but I think I'm the only one.

Is Thanksgiving happening this year? Or is everyone just skipping that? :)

I listened to it. But didn't think it stood out from the 17 other versions of Winter Wonderland. Could be I was still suicidal from listening to Dwight...

I think I'm going to start with Where Are You Christmas.

Okay, curiousity killed this cat as I just listened to a clip of that Dwight song on iTunes and that 30 seconds was enough to make me want to skip right to New Years.

Don't ever make me do that again... egads

Egads is an exclamation... not usually one of pleasure.

Egads... did you see what she was wearing?

I have to agree with all of you on Dwight's Come on Christmas. I love Dwight Yoakam, but that song is absolutely depressing!

Anyway, my choice for the first song is Country Christmas by Ricky Van Shelton.

On a related note, my vote for most overplayed Christmas song is "All I Want for Christmas Is You" by Vince Vance and the Valiants. At least on my (warning, blasphemy coming) terrestrial radio station, it is overplayed.
