Special Treat for My Blog Readers!

Didn't want you to have to wait until tomorrow for this news! The long rumored Kansas City show is now being confirmed by the music industry trade Radio & Records in their daily email blast:

Holy Crap, This News Is Garth-Gantuan! It's no rumor, this is happening.... When Garth Brooks announced plans for his "Ultimate" box set release, he hinted there might be a road trip on the way too -- the kind where he brings musician friends and all his toys. Well, you can put Nov. 14 in your day-timer, because the G-man is set to play the Sprint Center in Kansas City that night, and if he sells enough tickets for that show (like, duh!), he may add another. We understand radio will announce the shows tomorrow (Sept. 27), with details about the ticket on-sale Oct. 3.

By the way... this is the question during GRS that he was asked about that he gave the "yes... I'm not supposed to talk about it... but YES" answer to. ;-)

Who do you see as (an) opening act(s)?

Maybe selling well (obviously!) will inspire him to do shows in other areas of the country as well. We can hope!

SOMEBODY better get an extra ticket for their favorite blogger to buy off them. My oldest son and daughter-in-law live about an hour outside of KC. Hmm. Maybe I should make that 3 tickets.

I don't do well with ticketmaster.

Although my SIL tells me she has good luck calling out of state ticket masters for local shows... just make sure there's nothing major going on sale in your market that day.

I've long given up trying to get through to Ticketmaster by phone. I always get them through ticketmaster.com...much easier and less stressful.

I'm sure there will be a ticket with your name on it. :-)

I've already done some preliminary scoping of hotels in the area and have added KC to my preferred airports on Ding.

I am crying my way through "This is Garth Brooks Too" (the DVD) today. Garth still touches me as no other singer has ever done. His voice, the music, the lyrics... If I would see him in concert again, I would be crying like a baby, I am sure.

I hope Garth realizes how many dreams he is making come true by getting on stage and giving a concert again.

My thoughts and my heart will be right there with those of you who can go. And when he is doing Shameless, shed a little tear for me too, please.

To Jen...

I feel your pain. I was 8 1/2 months pregnant with my son when Queen toured Australia. We decided it was not worth the risk.
Damn baby came 10 days late and to this day I kick myself for not going as of course, Queen never came back to Oz.

IMHO, if you feel fine and you have had a trouble free pregnancy, then you should go.

Also, at the press conference he said "I can't reveal the where or when of that yet."
