The House Closing From HELL

Sorry I haven't been around... it would take me all morning to update you on what we've been through this week, and trust me, it's not a fun read. Short version of the story is we still haven't closed - everything has been done except Josefina singing her paperwork - and we are probably getting a lawyer Monday morning.

I'm completely out of the country music loop, missed the Big & Rich #1 party, completely could care less that Garth is releasing a new album, and my rock-n-roll hubby last night was the one to inform me that The Wreckers have split up. I'll catch up eventually.

Sorry to hear that J. Best wished on the move.

I heard that about the wreckers pursuing solo projects from country aircheck also.

Oh, man, that bites big time. You have moved into your new digs, though, right? Please tell us that at least that went okay and that you're knee deep in unpacking and settlin' in.

...and don't tell me that you haven't had a lawyer all along to get you through this minefield.:p I hope whatever it is that's holding up the signing gets sorted out and you'll have some good news to share soon.

No I haven't moved, I can't finalize the purchase of my new home until I make the money from the sale of this one.

And no, I haven't had a lawyer. I wouldn't have a clue how to even go about getting one. I really hope it doesn't come to that. But I like the fact that they are scared by the mention of the word.

I wonder what mention of "INS" would do to them?

J., you know I'm thinking about you guys, and I'll be at that kick butt house warming party you're going to have when all this is behind you... but I just heard the most amazing rumor. Because good Lord, it CANNOT be true. Billy Ray Cyrus covers Over the Rainbow on his new album??? *gag*

That's nothing - he also covers Brown Eyed Girl.

I'm going to cry.

I can't listen to those songs, or they'll be ruined for me forever!!!

I do hope the scare tactics work. In the meantime, let me know if you need a lawyer referral.

J - thinking about you and your house issues. They'll work out - I just know it. You SO DESERVE that new house! Hang in there.

I have to giggle at the Billy Ray comments. Any of you go to CMA Fest? He performed one of the evenings in the collesium - he actually did Brown Eyed Girl - HOWEVER - It was extremely OBVIOUS - he had the words taped to the stage at his feet and he READ most of the lyrics! You'd think for a crowd that size - you'd at least memorize the words to the TWO songs you're going to do!!!! He needs to concentrate on being 'Hannah Montana's Dad' I think.

I'll take that referral... thanks.

Ummm... crap. Guess no luck today? :(

J- ask your Realtor for a referral for a Real Estate attorney; the closing is far more complex than a general practice lawyer could handle. Tell your Realtor to tell the buyer's agent 'BREACH OF CONTRACT' equals serious money!

Hugs, in the meantime- I have back to back closings Wednesday and the damn VA hasn't sent the buyers signed eligiability paperwork :(

Well thankfully, the title company - who had to redo her paperwork today because she didn't sign last night - is now threatening to sue her as well, unless she brings her cashier's check to them by Noon tomorrow.

Oh, and Barbara, we have been saying that, the problem, I think, is that we haven't said it in Spanish.
