Music Movies

We got 3 months of digital cable cheap when we moved, so my husband has been a movie junkie (even more so than he was already.) Tonight he made me watch Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band.

Oh. My.

Which leads me to ask -- what are your favorite music-related movies? (Not counting musicals... it's not fair to compare anything to... say... South Pacific or The Sound of Music.)

hmm. that's a tough one honestly. I know one of my favorites (not because of how good it is, but because of how BAD it is, is KISS Meets the Phantom of the Park (released outside the US as KISS: Attack of the Phantoms)

Does, Dirty Dancing count as a musical. I love that soundtrack.

Besides that I also like The Wall by Pink Floyd but I guess that is a musical too.

Grease is my all-time fave movie EVER, but I guess that's a musical. :P

Other than that, Hope Floats, also The Wall, Austin Powers, Flashdance. :)

The Blues Brothers! Ray Charles, James Brown, Aretha Franklin all in it.

Wasn't crazy on the 2000 movie that Travis Tritt had a brief role in.

High Fidelity is one of my favorite movies.

Can't forget Walk The Line and Ray also.

Gary's favorite movie EVER is The Blues Brothers. Even Delaynie can quote lines from it now.

"Almost Famous" is most interesting, tying in with the Beatles also,(main character goes by the name "Penny Lane") as well as Garth AND Chris Gaines.

Oh! And did I mention the Peter Frampton connection to BOTH movies?

Go for it Joyce! I'd love to know what you think after that one!
