Audio Blogging from the Opry Plaza

I tried, anyway. Blogger didn't post it because of a "low confidence" in their transcription. Things like Garth and Crook & Chase don't translate apparently.

So, I'm pretty sure I saw you today in the Opry Mills parking lot after the Crook and Chase taping. You were parked next to my friend and I. And waited for us to get in the car and for her to go. I saw you standing there, and it didn't hit me who you were until I saw the XM logo on the back of your car. Sorry, I was still in Garth worship mode. Otherwise, I totally would've said hi.

ps. you probably don't know who I am, I'm usually the belmont/ reba commenter lol.

I could totally understand you...who needs the blogger translation. Will be refreshing the page until you post all the details.

I want to know if he actually appeared at the same time as George Jones. It cracks me up at how he's still 'starstruck'.

Missed the first 15 minutes but the show was excellent. I'll let J fill in all the details.

Kendel - that's wild! I wish we'd have figured that out. I was messing with my phone trying to find the number to audio blog while you were pulling out. I totally understand Garth worship mode though. What did YOU think of the taping?

Dave -- you totally missed Garth then!

P.S. How much longer are you at Belmont? I'm looking for a summer intern!

Well, I thought the taping went well. I can't believe I was that close to Garth. In Kansas City we were 3 rows from the top, so this makes up for that a little. He really seemed to get into the song and kinda ham it up for the camera, which is typical Garth. Also, I'm really glad Crook and Chase are back. I grew up watching their show. What can I say about George Jones? Its an honor to share a room with him. His daughter definitely has her mother's voice tone. The Oak Ridge Boys were different. I've never seen them live. I'll admit, all my life I've thought that the deep sound was coming from the guy with the beard (sorry I don't know their names). I was quite surprised when the skinny guy on the right was the one singing it. I'm glad I know that now. haha. Overall, I'm really glad I got to go to the taping. It seemed to flow better than the other tapings I've been too.
Sorry this is so long. Ask me what I think and if it concerns Country Music, I'll go on all day.

Oh and about the internship thing. Unfortunately because of a new Belmont rule put in effect this semester. I cannot intern until I take Internship lab. You used to be able to take the lab while you were doing an internship. Well, I wasn't told in advising to sign up for it this semester. So, I will take it in the fall semester this year. Therefore, I can't intern until the Spring semester of 09, a year from now (which will be my junior year). If you still need an intern then, count me in. I hope you find someone for the summer though. Good luck with that. Oh and thanks for all the amazing updates and insights. :)

ps. Sorry for being a blog comment hog, but I forgot to mention that I'd be happy to help if you ever needed anything. Kinda like an unofficial intern :) I don't know how you'd contact me without me posting my email or cell here. But, just so you know I'm here.

Kendel -- do NOT apologize for being a blog hog -- I love the comments that get left here. :-)

You can email me your contact info at joyce dot rizer at xmradio dot com. At the least I'd love to meet you in person and hear about what you're studying. In case you can't tell, I just LOVE mentoring college students.

You can't intern at XM until you're a junior anyway, so that all may work out just nicely. :-)

Richard is the deep voiced Oak who does the Oom Bop a Mow Mow's. William Lee is the one with the beard. As young as you are, I'm just glad you knew who they were!
