A Good Year for the Rizers

I have to tell you, I’m a little sad to see 2007 end… it was quite possibly the best year of my life. So many blessings came our way this year! 2007 started off with the excitement of my Christmas present to my mom – a trip to her homeland of New Zealand. The year ended with the double blessing of my two new nephews. In between I traveled half way around to world to meet family, jaunted to the Big Apple, and shared adventures in Vegas with a dear friend who had never been there. I saw my oldest son and his wife graduate from college, my daughter get braces and start middle school, my husband change jobs, and we bought and sold a house. It’s been quite a memorable year, that’s for sure.

The key word for 2008 is most likely going to be “change.” My younger son will graduate from college in May. My daughter’s best friend since kindergarten is changing schools over Christmas break. I’m getting one more niece or nephew in June. And of course, my employer is in the process of a merger that in all likelihood means that a year from now I’ll probably be working somewhere else.

I’m excited to see what’s ahead. But whatever the year brings, it’s going to be hard to top the Ride of 2007! Thanks so much to all of you who took the journey with me.

Happy New Year my friends!

Hi Joyce,

Gee, I thought I was the only one who didn't want this year to end! My year was also really good. In Jan. I left So. Cal. to move to Utah to go to BYU. So far this year, I gotten almost straight A's (darn that lousey B+). I can't imagine a better year.
Still...I hope we both have a GREAT...2008!
Your Friend,
Peggy

I know how you feel J. 2007 was also a very good year for me (us). One of the highlights was our holiday to the USA. That was something I had dreamed of for a long time. I had the chance to meet up with some long time internet friends. That was just wonderful!
And 2008 will also be a year of change for us, since hubby is leaving the company that he has been working for ever since he graduated from University (17 years ago). It might mean we have to move away, although I think that won't happen before 2009.

But I am starting off this year with confidence and excitement. I think you are too.

Have a great 2008!!

Love,
Main

:-D I'm glad someone got the joke hidden in the title!

I think part of the reason it has been such a good year for me is that it's been a good year for my friends & co-workers too!

Here's to an even better 2008!

2008 will be a year of change for us too. Hubby is due for a new assignment, the oldest graduates form high school a year early in June and we just bought a house and will move in April.

My son will be in his last year of junior high. When he started 6th grade I was so nervous about junior high......He has autism and I wasn't sure how he would handle the social side of school and the increased work load. But he's done amazing. :)

That's one of the reasons we bought a house here, so he and his younger sister can graduate from the schools on base. Now we just need to keep our fingers crossed that the Air Force finds him another job here on this base so that he doesn't have to go to another base for 8 or 9 months while we stay here.

Congratulations on the new house Pammy! Did you find one with a front porch?

Yes we did :D I'll send pictures later. Going through the house with the inspector this afternoon, I'll take some pictures while Jim is going through the house with a fine tooth comb. LOL

Hopefully this link will work, if not just go to Karenmcmillan.com and click on browse listings. I forgot the camera yesterday. And ignore the price.....We paid much less since the bank was about to foreclose on the house.

It's the listing on the bottom of the first page.

You're gonna have to send pictures. of you sitting on the front porch!

Another friend had the same problem. Weird. We are taking two of the kids up there tomorrow to see the house, so I'll take some pictures.
