US Country - R.I.P.

Just a reminder that today is the last day for you to enjoy the 80's and 90's country music featured on U.S. Country. At midnight Eastern tonight, the channel goes to Strait Country for the next 2 months.

I will be back to give the channel a proper obituary later, but didn't want you to miss the chance to record some programming on your Inno, Helix, or MyFi should you need to.

The first song to ever play on U.S. Country was "American Honky Tonk Bar Association." The last song to play on U.S. Country will be "The Dance."

This is so, so wrong...I think 16 shouldn't play Strait now! ;-)

I totally remember waiting to hear AHBA...how fitting that The Dance is the last one. :)

Appropriate songs to start and end with. :D

And what will the first song of the Strait Country era be??

I sure am going to miss US Country! It's going to be a long two months

I meant to look at that, and I forgot to. There's actually a pre-produced "Open" to the channel that will be running regularly for the first week or so.

I like George ........but 24/7 for 60 days?????? Sheesh

Blah.

I agree with Pam...I like George Strait, but 24/7 for two months? One less country music channel to choose from...just hope this won't be a trend when the merger is complete.

But US Country will be back after the two months is over?

No real way to know what is going to happen with a merger on the horizon. We'll have to see how the listeners react.

Ugh - so glad I got back to listen to 17 one last time in my truck before it goes bu-bye.

I do like Strait - but come on. Not that much. I don't even think I could listen to an all Mr. & Mrs. Brooks station. Okay, that's a lie. :)

But thanks for playing The Dance - may have to go listen to the sad transition.

Sigh...

The listeners will react badly I would say!

I couldn't listen to Strait for 24/7, particularly his newer stuff; he seems to be just ringing it in.

Well, suprise, suprise - the mail has been right at 50/50 for and against. A lot more people love Strait Country than I gave them credit for.
