Where in the World...

are my blog readers from? Well let me tell you!

I have this nifty little free program on my blog that lets me see stats on the last 100 visitors. Depending on the time of day I check it, I can see some interesting stuff.

Today I had a particularly interesting international mix:

Zagreb Croatia (wow!)
Wellington, New Zealand (Brett, right? I've not been to Wellington. Yet.)
Zurich, Switzerland (Main?)
Bath, England (Dave?)
Worcester, England (got sauce?)
Oslo, Norway (Jona)

And somewhere I've just absolutely never heard of before and wouldn't know where to being looking for it on a map:
Quatre Bornes Mauritus

I do know that Quatre means "four" in french, so I'm going to tell myself someone is reading me on the French Riviera.

I do have a couple of intriguing cities domestically too... like the regular visitor from Paw Paw, Michigan. If I built a high school there, I'd name their mascot the Paw Paw Bear Claws. I always smile when I see Paw Paw on the log.

And today I had a visitor from Metamora, IL. Trying to remember if I drive by Metamora on the way home. I sure remember Jim Barnett and Lee Ransom giving the temperature there. Or Mike and Mac "Still ahead... news for Metamora and all of Central Illinois..."

Feel free to claim your city.

Since Garth is in concert the night of the CMA's, can we expect a performance via satellite?

I hadn't even thought of that...hopefully there will be a Garth and Trisha via satellite performances

J,
Mauritius is a tiny island in the Indian Ocean just to the right of Madagascar and far left from Oz.
It's apparently a beautiful place.

It was once under French rule, hence the name of the town of Quatre Bornes.

There is a large population of Mauritians living here in Oz.

...and that ends todays Geography lesson ;)

Just plain old Columbus OH!

That just rocks!!!

Metamora is sort of close to B-N, closer to Peoria on 116 - I think.

There goes the Illinois geography for today.

Christchurch! I haven't been there either. Yet.

I had a great aunt that lived in Christchurch... she lived to be 100.

I shall be driving 116 this weekend 'Lish! I will wave at the corn for you. :-D

Are we going to need to bail you out of jail this weekend, J? ;-)

By the way Brett -- it is you that shows up with a Wellington IP.

I'm sad that my Metamora visitor was here today and didn't say hello.

Please wave at that corn for me! Although it should be coming out right about now. You'll be dodging combines. Have fun!

I hope the Wellington IP is across the pond and not Wellington, IL. T'ain't nothing in Wellington, IL except my grandma and she uses her computer as a paperweight.

Hey...Here's another from Illinois checking in! I found the Illinois geography lesson today helpful...I live between Ottawa and Morris (just a dot on the map), but I'd never heard of Metamora - so I looked it up on a map. :)

Oops, I didn't mean to be anonymous....
Cheryl in Illinois

Well I just looked up Ottawa! I knew it was north somewhere... couldn't remember exactly where.

Mmm... fresh sweet corn!

Well thats weird, that it shows up with a wellington IP, perhaps my server has to go thru wellington or something.

Wow your great Aunt lived here, small world huh!

Kathleen from rainy London... I've been reading your blog for a while now and love it. We need more country music over here!

Oh Ottawa and Morris - heard of them both. Isn't there a truck stop in Morris that has an insanely huge burger or something? I love that I remember towns by their food. Egads! I grew up in Watseka, IL by the way, Cheryl. Over on the Indiana border. I'm now a long way from home in Salem/Beverly, Ma (north of Boston).

Joann - going the Fri - Sun shows at this point. It still all feels like a dream! Are you going?

Lish....yep, the truck stop is called R-Place, right off of I80. I've seen those burgers, but never had one myself. Funny how food can be a town's claim to fame!

There are an awful lot of you Illinois people floating around... ;-)

Cheryl in Illinois,

I have relatives that live in Morris, Illinois. At least I think they still live there. LOL My Uncle Ken used to have a carpet store in Morris and he was a volunteer fireman. So was his son, until he was killed fighting a fire. Been to Morris several times.

Hubby graduated form U of I. And our first duty station was Chanute AFB, in Rantoul, ILL. I was born in Chicago, lived there until I was 8. Then we moved out to Country Club Hills. (no country clubs no hills LOL) Interstate 80 was practically in our back yard.

I know way too much info LOL

I changed planes a couple of times in Chicago this past May...does that count? That was the only time I'd ever been in Illiois. Had my first and second Potbelly sandwich. :-)
